So, you are ready to take salsa lessons and you are wondering about the details. Here are a few answers to help you be ready for class:

What do I wear?

Wear comfortable clothes, preferably somewhat form fitting. Clothes that are too baggy won't allow the instructor to see how your body moves. Dance is about mobility and self expression, so your instructor will get to know your body by observing you throughout the class.

What shoes do I wear?

Dance shoes are preferred. You may wear ballroom shoes (suede bottoms), jazz shoes or shoes with leather soles. Please feel free to call if you have any questions or concerns.

Is there anything else I need for class?

Yes, please feel free to bring water. Hydration is an important part of wellness.

What will I learn during the salsa lesson?

Feel free to discuss your goals with your instructor. Salsa lessons may include musicality, footwork and technique, styling, body isolations and hopefully, improvisation! You will also learn to lead or follow and dance etiquette.

What should I expect from my salsa lesson?

You will develop body awareness and dance skills. You will learn partner work and shines (solo footwork). You should also expect to feel very comfortable as you improve your self-confidence and have lots of fun!
